About Us
St Peters Baptist Church is a community of around 250 people of all ages from a wide variety of backgrounds. Together we are discovering how to follow the example and teaching of Jesus in our 21st century world. This means being connected to God with real faith, connected to one another with real love and connected to our inner selves with real honesty. We know its next to impossible to live this kind of life without the encouragement of others so we meet together to celebrate God's goodness, to discover more from the Bible about authentic Christian living and to pray about things that really matter in life. On Sundays we hold larger gatherings at our church centre on St Peter's Drive. During the week we meet in a wide range of small groups around the city. It's in these smaller groups that we really get to know one another and discover the strength of journeying through life with friends who pray for us, support us and challenge us to live out our faith every day. We believe the church also exists to serve the wider community and be good news for society as a whole. That's why we run the Eden Coffee Shop, Eden Story and Bumps & Babies Parent and Toddler Groups, Tuesday@2 for retired people and a range of activities for youth and children, as well as maintaining ongoing partnerships with many charitable organisations locally and overseas.
