About Us

Abbey Chapel is an independent evangelical church situated in the heart of Tavistock. Those attending are across the age range, and we aim to give a warm welcome to everyone who steps through the door. We believe that every church should be Bible based in its doctrine, and this includes living out your faith in the local community. Taking the verses from the book of James, "Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do". (James 2.18.NIV) It is the oldest surviving building from monastery times in the 900's, but refurbished inside to be a friendly, comfortable place of worship.
