About Us
SBC is a friendly, growing church that has been serving our town for over 140 years. People of all ages come together to praise God for all he has done and to learn together from the Bible. We believe that God sent his son, Jesus, to rescue us from the consequences of our behaviour towards God. The Bible tells us to turn away from what we used to do and to turn to Jesus for mercy and salvation. We trust the Bible as God's word and believe that it tells us, not only how to become a Christian (a follower of Jesus), but also how to keep on following Jesus in our everyday lives. We want to encourage one another to follow Jesus each day and to serve God in our local community and we want to help others explore faith and come into a relationship with God which transforms lives forever. Our church gatherings and outreach activties help us to do these things. If you are interested in finding out more about Jesus and the Bible, or if you are a Christian in our locality or beyond, you are very welcome.
