About Us
Today at Stambourne Congregational Chapel we uphold the same right of the freedom to worship in a nonconformist way, as our forefathers did in 1662, when the chapel was formed. We are an independent self financing fellowship who provide a friendly place for worship, prayer, Bible teaching and fellowship, and to help people to grow in their relationship with our triune God. We have one very famous connection in C. H. Spurgeon, the prince of preachers, who regularly visited his grandfather, minister at Stambourne Chapel for 54 years, and who was the carer for the young Charles up to the age of 7. If you are looking for a friendly fellowship and perhaps seeking answers to Christianity or to further your faith we extend a warm welcome to you. If you are looking for family history please contact us - we have many records that may help.
