Sun 10:30 Sunday Service
Our Sunday gatherings are shaped by historic Christian faith and expository preaching. We read and teach the Bible carefully and systematically, sing biblically rich hymns and songs, pray together, and celebrate the Lord’s Supper every week. We believe the gospel of Jesus Christ is good news for London today, and we seek to apply it thoughtfully to everyday life. Wed 19:30 Community Group
Our midweek small groups are designed to help us move from hearing the Word to living it. Meeting in homes, we study Scripture together, reflect on its implications, and pray intentionally for one another. We believe Christian growth happens best in community: not just in rows on Sunday, but in circles throughout the week. - Denomination:
- Evangelical, Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches, Independent
- Hymns & songs:
- Our worship blends carefully chosen modern songs with rich historic hymns that are biblically faithful and Christ-centred. We value theological depth, congregational participation, and clarity in what we sing.
- Under 18s:
- We provide age-appropriate Bible teaching for children during our Sunday gatherings. Our aim is to help young people understand the gospel, grow in faith, and feel fully part of church life. All children’s work is overseen by trained and DBS-checked volunteers.
- 18-30s:
- We have many students and young professionals in our church family. Midweek small groups, one-to-one Bible reading, and informal social gatherings help build friendships and deepen faith.
- Local outreach & community activities:
- We seek to serve our local community through: 1) clear gospel preaching; 2) personal evangelism; 3) apologetics courses; 4) partnerships with other gospel-centred, biblical churches in our area; and 4) we volunteer from time-to-time at the community centre where we gather on Sundays depending on their need. We aim to be a faithful, visible Christian presence in South Hampstead and the surrounding areas.
- Other activities & ministries:
- In addition to our Sunday gatherings, our activities include but are not limited to: midweek Bible study groups; prayer gatherings; pre-marriage and discipleship courses; separate men’s and women’s fellowship; and leadership training and theological teaching.

About Us
Church at South Hampstead is a gospel-centred, Bible-teaching church in North West London committed to knowing Christ and making Him known. We believe the good news of Jesus is life-changing and relevant for today. Our gatherings are centred on expository preaching, prayer, and congregational worship. We aim to be a church family where Scripture shapes our thinking, the gospel shapes our lives, and love shapes our community. We welcome people at every stage: whether exploring Christianity for the first time or seeking to grow in mature Christian faith.
