About Us
St Paul's Shadwell is a vibrant church in east London, between the Tower of London and Canary Wharf. Planted in 2005 from Holy Trinity Brompton. There is an overt focus on looking outwards with courses and supporting already existing local projects. Known locally as the Church of Sea Captains - 70 sea captains are buried in the church yard! St Paul's is in a mixed community of Bangladeshi Muslims, young professionals in their 20s and 30s and indigenous East Enders. The area has gone through massive change economically, socially, culturally and spiritually, as the dock economy moved out further east and the recent development of Canary Wharf and the surrounding Docklands.
