About Us

A small committed congregation who punch 'above their weight'; very open and relaxed worship in an anglo-catholic, gospel emphasis style; very welcoming and a mixture of over 70's; 40-60's; 20-30's at the 10.30am Sunday Eucharist; different people at the 10.30am Weds said Eucharist & different people at the monthly 4pm 'service'. We say our Vision Statement at every service-see our website for it; the Gospel is preached; the Holy Spirit comes and we are blessed. Thankfulness to God is a key principle of the life of St Paul's church. 2019 was our 150th Anniversary Year with special events happening including 2 mission outreach times-Easter and Harvest. In 2020 we have a 4 day mission leading up to Palm Sunday with Through Faith evangelists helping us in our outreach into our community. The PCC pray together each month; refreshments after every Sunday Eucharist & once a month after the weekly Weds said Eucharist at 10.30am. The church was built in 1869 for the railway workers who came to this part of Peterborough - it became the biggest goods yards in Europe - right beside the church! It is a beautiful church with stained glass windows, some by Cakebread. The Church Hall beside the church, a paddock car park and the Vicarage alongside. All on an 'island' - a traffic island! in an area called New England.
