About Us

Anthem is a diverse church in Leicester where you can encounter God and find authentic friendships. We aren't just a service; we are an intergenerational family. From University students (UoL/DMU) looking for a home away from home, to families, professionals, and retirees, there is a place for you. We meet at 4pm for worship, teaching, breaking bread, kids activities and having lots of fun. We always share a simple meal together at the end of our service as it's a great way to make friends and connect at a deeper level. A PLACE TO BELONG We believe church should be an authentic community of people who love one another and do life together. We’re not about putting on a show, instead we’re creating a place where everyone can be seen, known and loved. That’s one reason why we always share a meal as part of our Sunday gatherings - we want to grow deep friendships and be a place where everyone can belong. A SAFE PLACE TO EXPLORE We want to be a place where it’s safe to explore, ask questions and go on the journey of discovering Jesus. Not everyone who’s part of our church community is a committed Christian yet - and that’s OK. And if you are a follower of Jesus, we want to be a place you’ll feel confident to invite your friends knowing that they’ll be right at home. WORD + SPIRIT TOGETHER What is a ‘word and Spirit’ church? Well, first we want to be rooted in the truth of God’s word - the Bible. It is the solid rock that we build our lives on. At the same time we long to experience the very real presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. He is the one who transforms, heals, empowers and changes us, so we unashamedly want him to come. BE DISCIPLED + MAKE DISCIPLES Coming to church on Sunday should be about more than just consuming a product or enjoying the service! It’s a place to encounter God and be equipped to serve him in the rest of our lives. We want every Christian to be equipped to make disciples.
