About Us

Union Chapel is a Congregational church: we are non-hierarchical, and make decisions democratically, in a meeting of our church members. We are a liberal church: we worship every Sunday at 11 am, and we preach the Gospel in a way that is intellectually challenging and concerned with every part of modern life. Our church life is inclusive and non-judgemental, and we have a series of sermons by distinguished preachers, in which we explore what Christian commitment means in the modern world. We are engaged with the wider life of the community: we run homelessness drop-in centre and we use our magnificent building to host a wide variety of musical and cultural activities.
