Messy Church is usually a once-a-month gathering for two hours at a time. Each experience involves an opening activity, various games, crafts, and science experiments, a celebration time (think songs, prayer, and storytelling), and then finishes with sharing a meal together – all focused around one theme or biblical story. Instead of gathering as a whole church on the fourth Sunday of each month, we meet in smaller contexts called Missional Communities. These communities may also meet at other times during the month. What are Missional Communities? God has changed each of our lives in an incredible way. We’d love to see the same transformation in the lives of our friends and in our city. A quiet shared space where it’s OK not to be OK. Every Monday morning Hoole Lighthouse Centre becomes a community space for a variety of hobbies and activities. Anyone is welcome to share a hobby or skill or join in with other activities. Or just have a cuppa and relax and chat, or enjoy the peace and quiet in our quiet area.
