About Us

Southernhay is a city centre church whose Sunday morning congregation comes from all areas of the city and surrounding towns and villages. Our worship expresses a liberal theology. We believe God loves and values everyone. We are an intentionally inclusive church; whatever your race, colour, age, gender, sexual orientation or state of health - and wherever you are on your spiritual journey - you are welcome at Southernhay. We meet for coffee after the service. The Church shares in the activities of other URC churches in Exeter, and ecumenically through Christians Together Across Exeter The church runs a Child Contact Centre and supports Partners in Palestine and Commitment for Life through Christian Aid, and a variety of local and national charities are supported as appropriate via suggestions of the Church Meeting. The Church is licensed for Weddings (man and woman and same sex).
