About Us

Since 1988, our congregation has called Canonmills home. Previously a penny school attended by Robert Louis Stevenson, then a mission hall and a base for the 46th Edinburgh Company of the Boys’ Brigade, today the historic building is home to our vibrant church. Canonmills Church is an ecumenical, open-minded church that is based on the principles of independence and freedom of thought. We gladly welcome people from all backgrounds. In our church, the Communion table is always open to all. Canonmills Church is embedded in the community, offering a range of events, groups and venue hire to our local area.
