Crediton Congregational Church

Main Meetings:
Sun 10:30 Sunday Service
Our services are fairly informal and include sung worship, reading the Bible, praying and a sermon, with groups running for children and young people too. We also share in communion regularly. Whatever your reason for coming to church, we hope that you feel relaxed and at home with us, that you find people are friendly to you, and that our service is meaningful for you.
Denomination:
Congregational
Hymns & songs:
A mix of contemporary worship and traditional hymns
Under 18s:
We want to be a church where children and young people are safe and know that they are loved, welcomed and valued as part of our community. We recognise the importance of inter-generational connections where we learn from each other and we believe we have a part to play in helping the children and young people in our town to flourish. We want CCC to be a place where they can make friends, have fun and ask big questions. We pray that they will know, experience and respond to the love of God for themselves and grow in their faith. We have several projects running for them including: CORE - youth church on Sunday mornings MAINLY MUSIC - preschoolers group with music FISHTANK - preschoolers play with craft, games, singing and cake! FRIDAY KIDS - primary age club on Friday evenings including a hot meal FRIDAY YOUTH - youth drop-in on Friday evenings FUSION - children's church on Sunday mornings CRECHE - pre-schoolers' group on Sunday mornings
18-30s:
Our young adults life group is a great opportunity for 18-30s to gather together to read the Bible, pray and socialise together.
Local outreach & community activities:
Fishtank Cafe - a regular drop in session with tea/coffee/snacks, particularly popular with those who live alone and those with babies and toddlers (toys and crafts available!) Coffee & Company - a weekly coffee morning for those of the older generation wanting to meet with others, crosswords, games, puzzles, coffee and cake! Crediton Foodbank -a Christians Together in Crediton initiative that runs from our building. We want to show God's love in action by providing food for people in crisis in our community. Alpha - we regularly run Alpha courses to give people an opportunity to explore faith, life, meaning and purpose and to learn more about our Christian faith.
Other activities & ministries:
Life groups - many of our congregation meet in small groups during the week to study the Bible, pray and support/encourage one another. Causeway/Prospects - we run regular sessions that are open to everyone but especially those with a learning disability, their carers and friends.
Leaders:
As well as our Pastor, James Gregory, we have a leadership team consisting of 6 people as well as a secretary and treasurer. Each year one person finishes their time on the leadership team and a new person is appointed to the team.
