About Us

Plume Avenue Church is part of the United Reformed Church. We are also affiliated with the Evangelical Alliance and are a New Wine Network church. We work closely with other local churches in Prettygate and Colchester and have links with churches across the globe with close links to churches in Kenya. Our heart is for compassion and justice for all. We support and are involved with Colchester Foodbank, Beacon House, Colchester Soup Run, Christians Against Poverty, Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal and International Justice Mission. Pastoral Care: Plume Avenue Church values each person. Pastoral care is provided by many, in different ways. It often occurs within friendships or existing small groups. We also have a Pastoral Care Team working alongside the Minister and the Elders. The team aims to offer emotional, spiritual and practical support to all in the good and difficult times. The team may pray with people or just offer a listening ear where needed. Meals are provided for families with new babies or for others needing help due to home situations or circumstances. We also bless people with the flowers which have been in Church on a Sunday. Activities: The church runs various activities on its premises as well as its regular services. These include: Prayer Meetings, Youth Group, Girls Brigade, Low-impact exercise classes Events: including concerts, mens prayer breakfasts & womens prayer breakfasts Courses: these include membership courses, Alpha and Start Courses Homegroups: take place at various times and locations Social Activities: During the year we have lunches, quizzes and almost everything revolves around food! We also screen some of the large sporting activities such as the Olympics and big national events on our large screen.
