About Us

Jesus was once asked, what is the greatest commandment? His reply was, ‘“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.” We believe that God is a God of infinite love and forgiveness and that; ‘every person is equally loved and a person of broken beauty loved by the One of unquenchable Love’. This truth defines us, and we are constantly amazed at the love of God in Christ Jesus, that we can all find forgiveness and acceptance through the cross. We are therefore reluctant to attach labels to anyone to describe their theological perspectives, as this can cause misunderstandings and foster discrimination. Faith is always a journey of discovery, we will never know all the answers, and there is always still more truth and light to be revealed from God’s word. Sometimes we need to accept that faith is a ‘mystery’. It is a privilege to see the working of the Holy Spirit in our communities, and to be invited to share in God’s purposes for his world. In all that we do Christ, ‘the Word become flesh’ is central. He is the blueprint and template of our lives. Everything we attempt for him is to be done in the power of the Holy Spirit and in our weakness. We are created in the image of God and all mission is God’s mission, deriving from the Trinitarian Godhead. We are therefore called to seek to join him where he is already working, not necessarily sticking to our traditional ministries. We believe the Bible is the inspired, active, and living word of God; our guide in all matters of faith but it must be contextualized and reapplied for our own times. What did it mean for the first readers; what does it mean for us in the 21st century. Remember, if you take the text out of context you are left with a ‘con’. We believe that both corporate and individual prayer and worship is vital to the health of any church, and it is important to us that our
