About Us

Newcomers often reflect that Deane is a friendly, joyful, all-age church with people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. We believe Jesus’ claim when he says “I am the way and the truth and the life.” We're in the evangelical tradition with a gentle charismatic influence. Hearing God speak to us from the Bible and helping each other to join up the dots between the Bible and life are key to who we are and what we do. We are firm believers in 'the priesthood of all believers', encouraging all Christians in the appropriate use of our God-given gifts. Our core congregation is around 90 adults and 20 children & young people. We work closely with the neighbouring parish of St Thomas and St John Lostock, with whom we share a vicar, Growth Groups, various courses and other ministries. Our Growth Groups, for fellowship, prayer, Bible study, pastoral care and outreach are an important part of the life of both churches.
