About Us
We're a lively church in Black Notley, 1.5 miles south of Braintree in Essex. Our driving force is a love of God and His Son, Jesus, and a desire to bring the Good News of new life for all. Sunday morning worship is lively and attracts people of all ages. We are blessed with a large number of children, who have their own groups during part of the service. Refreshments are served after the service at The Coffee House, a fully-functioning coffee shop that is open throughout the week. We are passionate about serving the community and this is reflected through a large number of activities that operate over a typical month. We believe God has called us to serve the community in this way with no agenda, but a very present hope that folk will come to faith in Jesus. As a result, we run Alpha Courses every few months which are well attended and The Coffee House is a valuable tool in enabling relationships to grow with those in the local area. Our passion for Jesus among our own church family extends beyond community work and Sunday mornings, with vibrant home groups, men's & women's discipleship groups, evening worship services, attending conferences and festivals and creating opportunities for our Cornerstone family to grow, learn and love. We are not a 'comfy' church where we'll all grow old together...we believe God has even more for us and we are excited at where He is taking us next!
