About Us

Bishop's Stortford Baptist Church is an evangelical, purpose driven church, a community of believers living according to the Bible's teaching. Our ministry and worship style caters for all. As the main Baptist church in the area, we draw our congregation from outside Bishop's Stortford, most notably Stansted Mountfitchet and Little Hallingbury. As a Baptist church, our membership, guided by the Holy Spirit, has the final say in matters of our communal life. Five elders, including our Ministers, are responsible for spiritual and pastoral oversight, teaching, and setting the church's vision. Several deacons put the vision into practice, each responsible for a Ministry Team covering one of the five purposes of the church; Worship, Evangelism, Social Action, Discipleship, Fellowship.
